On October 8, the Azerbaijani armed forces struck two targeted blows upon the Holy Savior Ghazanchetsots Cathedral in the city of Shushi in Artsakh, causing great destruction and injuries to children, women and the elderly in the cathedral at that time. Three Russian journalists were injured by the rocket strikes.
During my visit to Erebuni Medical Center today, one of the journalists in the intensive care unit, who was seriously injured, asked me to tell everyone that he had seen with his own eyes how the rocket targetted the Cathedral at the time when only children, women and elderly were present inside. Immediately after the first strike, the journalists themselves tried to help and evacuate the civilians out of the church, some of whom were injured, but at the same moment a second rocket stroke, due to which the journalists were also injured, and the savage blows caused devastation. The journalist himself stated that he had personally witnessed the fact that there were absolutely no military objects on the way to Shushi, except for obviously civilian inhabitants.
P.S. The photos from the scene of the rocket attack were taken from the page of Armenian journalist Abraham Gasparyan, evidencing assistance of the people to the injured journalist, who is still in the intensive care unit.
